The Property
Tuscan-inspired stonework, terracotta rooflines and rows of soaring cypress trees line the approach to Wave Runner Lodge, framing manicured hedges and wide, structured lawns still settling into their fullest colour. Gravel pathways wind past a private courtyard and pergola, while inside, a grand tiled staircase climbs toward a rooftop terrace looking out over the estate and the North Canterbury countryside beyond.

The Heritage
The name Wave Runner belongs to a champion mare, raised at Tuapeka Lodge - one of New Zealand's most storied standardbred studs.
Small in stature but formidable on the track, she became the foundation of Mike Atkins' breeding line, Gama Breeding, which has since produced winners across New Zealand, Australia and the United States.
Wave Runner Lodge carries that name forward in earnest - the same quiet, considered approach that built her legacy now shapes this estate, one generation at a time.
Proudly partnering with Flaxmill
Just down the road in Oxford sits The Flaxmill - once a wartime flax-processing mill built in the 1940s, now beautifully restored into one of North Canterbury's most striking wedding venues, known for its soaring ceilings, raw concrete and industrial charm across 15 private acres, with luxury on-site glamping for couples celebrating the full weekend.
Wave Runner Lodge proudly partners with The Flaxmill, giving their couples a dedicated, Tuscan-inspired setting for their wedding photography - a different mood entirely from The Flaxmill's own industrial elegance, just minutes down the road.
